All the major music streaming services are displaying a plain album cover for Mrs. Piss’ debut album ‘Self-Surgery’ instead of the original which features a naked woman urinating.
Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal and Google Play Music are all using a black cover with the band’s name on it.
That’s despite displaying gory covers like Cannibal Corpse’s ‘Butchered At Birth’ and ‘Tomb Of The Mutilated’.
It is unclear if the decisions came down to the platforms, the band or the label, but considering the band and label are both rambunctious, you can draw your own conclusion.
Mrs. Piss is a heavy collaboration between Chelsea Wolfe and Jess Gowrie.
Their first record Self-Surgery was released through Sargent House on May 29.
Drawing on their collective rock, metal, and industrial influences, the project began while the two were touring together during Wolfe’s ‘Hiss Spun’ album in 2017.
For Mrs. Piss, Wolfe is on vocals and guitar and Gowrie handles drums, guitar and bass.
Wolfe is an American singer-songwriter and musician whose work has blended elements of gothic rock, doom metal, and folk music.
Gowrie is a drummer for Chelsea Wolfe and Horseneck.
