Metal bands nominated for six 2020 Billboard Music Awards

Metal bands have been nominated for six of the 253 awards at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.

Tool received one BBMA nomination for top rock artist and a second for top rock album for Fear Inoculum, while Metallica got a nod for top touring artist and another for top rock tour.

Slipknot is in the running for top rock album with We Are Not Your Kind, and Mötley Crüe are contenders for top soundtrack for The Dirt.

The Billboard Music Awards, originally scheduled for April 29 but delayed by the pandemic, will be held on October 14.

This year’s awards are based on the chart period of March 23, 2019 through March 14, 2020.

Kelly Clarkson will return as host for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards, which will broadcast live from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 14 at 8pm ET on NBC.
