Northlane have won the 2019 ARIA award for best hard rock/heavy metal album.
The ARIAs were held at a ceremony at The Star Event Centre in Sydney on November 27.
“We won the ARIA for best hard rock/heavy metal album!” the band say in a statement.
“This one is really special, Alien means more to us than any body of work we’ve ever completed.
“Thank you for the incredible passion you’ve shown for this record.
“It makes every bit of pain we went through all the more worth it.”
2019 has been a huge year for Northlane with the release of their bold and most personal fifth album, ‘Alien’.
Alien debuted at number three on the ARIA album chart.
Their previous three albums have debuted in the top five in Australia – with ‘Node’ landing at number one before going on to win an ARIA for best hard rock/heavy metal album, an accolade also awarded to ‘Mesmer’.
The 2019 nominees for best hard rock/heavy metal album were:
