Ocean Grove have revealed one of its members has coronavirus.
The band made the announcement today on social media, stating the undisclosed member had been tested and is in good spirits.
Ocean Grove said they felt a “social responsibility” to warn those who may have come in contact with them during their recent promo run.
“We just want to be the first to let you all now that we’ve received the unfortunate news that a member of OG has tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
“After feeling what was interpreted as a common headache, he began experiencing symptoms of the virus on Monday 16th and was tested the following morning.
“Results have come back today, and our brother is currently in good spirits while being treated.
“We understand we just completed a promotional run of meet & greets over the weekend in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and therefore feel a social responsibility to share this news with you immediately.
“We are so incredibly grateful for the overwhelming amount of support we have received in the weeks leading up to the release of our album and most of all this release week has been truly remarkable.
“It saddens us that those showing their direct support in attending a signing event should be affected in anyway.
“If you did however attend one of these signings, please take into consideration the Australian Government’s advice to self-quarantine for two weeks to prevent the spread of the virus.
“In the event you begin experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, please seek medical attention.
“Even if you are not experiencing any symptoms and/or did not attend one of the meet & greets, please consider practicing self-distancing and practice good hygiene to stop the virus from spreading.
“Stay as safe/sane out there as you possibly can.
“Keep that PMA and remember…Rock Lives. We love you all very much – Ocean Grove.”
