To celebrate the release of single, Can’t Stop Me, Tamworth trio Traces have announced a national headline tour for January 2020.
Can’t Stop Me initiated a movement on social media of the same name to open up conversation about mental health.
The song is an anthem of rebellion and a fight against everyone’s own worst enemy – themselves.
Traces will begin their ‘Can’t Stop Me Australian Tour’ on January 17 at Crowbar Brisbane before heading down to Newcastle to play Cambridge Hotel on January 24.
Sydney’s Factory Floor is next on January 25, then The Basement in Canberra on January 28 and rounding off the tour in Melbourne on January 30 is Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar.
Can’t Stop Me was an entirely DIY offering, from the engineering, mixing and mastering by vocalist Jack Pallett all the way to the video clip.
The track is ultimately about overcoming self-doubt and facing and accepting the negative side of who you are, your personality and what you put into the world.
“We all have an idea of who we want to be, an ideal image of ourselves that we all strive for,” Pallett says.
“Often pressure from outer influences like friends, family and society can make it hard to be who we want, but ultimately the biggest thing stopping us from realising our dreams, goals and aspirations is ourselves, our own self-doubt and the negative side of who we are that we all pretend doesn’t exist.”
Traces started from humble beginnings, playing opening slots at local gigs and building their way up to headlining sold out hometown shows and playing alongside bands to the likes of Dream on Dreamer, Attila (US), In Hearts Wake, Hellions, Polaris and Ocean Grove.
